Whilst the leaders of the world gather in the USA it is perfectly apparent that we are not even at the end of the beginning in this world financial crisis. Anything is possible but that has its ominous as well as its optimistic side. Also the interregnum in the USA does nothing to bolster confidence especially in the absence of any decision onĀ whi is to be US Secretary of the Treasury, Perhaps we could lend Brown top Obama? I am sure he would enjoy himself in this role as a kind of economic Dr Strangelove.

It is perhaps ironic that in the midst of financial turmoil a new 4 billion dollar turnover company has been created. Sir Martin Sorrell now sits at the head of the second largest research company in the world and remains optimistic not only for the future of his new creation but for the short-lived nature of the global financial crisis. He does advise future entrpreneurs however to look to countries such as China and Brazil for opportunities of making a fortune. Surely with his global experience it is about time he was offered a “goat” appointment by Gordon Brown!
